Magnificent desolation near the Paria Ranger Station along US 89 in southeastern Utah, at the southern reaches of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. It's a fine alternative if you are not one of the lucky 20 who get a pass to hike to the Wave in North Coyote Buttes.
